EMORY, Va. -- The Ferrum College volleyball team remained unbeaten to open the 2026 season, defeating Emory & Henry University 3-1 tonight on the road at the John Rutledge King Center. The Panthers dropped the opening set, but rallied to win the next three sets to improve to 3-0 on the season.

THE BASICS
The Panthers fell behind 1-0 after Emory & Henry claimed the opening set 25-19. Ferrum answered with a 25-19 second-set victory before edging the Wasps 25-23 in the third set to take a 2-1 lead. Ferrum closed out the match with a dominant 25-15 fourth-set victory.

Emma Powell led the Panthers with 12 kills while hitting .526.
Catherine Bennett and
Makayla Rumley each added 11 kills, with Bennett hitting .435 and recording 11 digs.
Harleigh Propst contributed nine kills while hitting .421 and directed the Ferrum offense with 22 assists.
Daniela Castillo led the Panthers with 12 digs.
Bennett added one service ace and two blocks, while Powell finished with a team-high four blocks.
Danielle Worthy added two kills and two service aces, while
Skye Carter had 13 assists and eight digs.
Lily Ritzema contributed five kills in three sets of action.
