FERRUM, Va. -- The Ferrum College volleyball team dropped its first match of the 2026 season Wednesday night, falling to Concord University 3-1 at Swartz Gymnasium. The Panthers won the opening set, but Concord rallied to win the next three sets and hand Ferrum its first loss of the season.

THE BASICS
The Panthers opened the match with a 25-19 first-set victory, but Concord answered with a 26-24 second-set win to even the match at 1-1. The Mountain Lions took control with a 25-16 third-set victory before closing out the match with a 25-19 fourth-set win.

Makayla Rumley led the Panthers with 10 kills,
Catherine Bennett added nine kills, one service ace and two blocks, andÂ
Harleigh Propst directed the Ferrum offense with 19 assists and added three kills.
