
EMORY, Va. -- The Ferrum College women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 non-conference setback to Emory & Henry College on the road this afternoon.

Kelsey Walters scored Ferrum's lone goal unassisted to put the Panthers up 1-0 at the 24:15 mark. The Wasps came right back and scored less than three minutes later on an Amber Ferrell unassisted goal at 26:36.
Just before halftime, Kelsey Sellers converted a penalty kick for Emory & Henry in the 41st minute, beating Ferrum keeper
Katie Hodkinson for a 2-1 halftime lead.
Colleen Johnson locked things up with an unassisted insurance goal five minutes into the second half at the 50:24 mark.
Hodkinson and E&H goal keeper Hayley Poland had two saves each. Emory & Henry (6-0) took eight shots, Ferrum five. The Wasps closed the match with a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.
Ferrum (0-4) will try to snap its winless streak Sunday, Sept. 14, at home against Warren Wilson College. The non-conference match is slated to begin at 1 p.m. at Panther Field.
