Women's Soccer Falls at Randolph

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Ferrum College women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 non-conference match to non-conference opponent Randolph College on the road Sept. 7.  The match was originally scheduled for Sept. 6, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

Following a scoreless first half, the Wildcats got on the board less than two minutes into the second half courtest of Nadia Moheisen goal.  Shar Plows assisted on the play.  Lori Gerlach iced the win for Randolph with an unassisted goal in the 61st minute of play for the 2-0 final score.

Ferrum goalkeeper Katie Hodkinson made five saves, playing all 90 minutes.  Victoria Johnson recorded the shutout in net for the Wildcata, making seven saves.  Randolph out-shot Ferrum 11-10, and the Panthers held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Ferrum returns to action with a pair of road matches.  Coach Sandy Lagana's team will play at Roanoke College Sept. 9, the at Emory & Henry College Sept. 11.  Both are non-conference matches.
