GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Ferrum College fell 4-0 to Greensboro College in USA South Athletic Conference play this afternoon on the road.
Cara Wilcox and Mary Reinheardt put Greensboro up 2-0 with goals in the sixth and 37th minutes of play. Tessa Hall assisted on both goals. Meredith Kelly scored an unassisted goal in the 39th minute to give the Pride a 3-0 halftime lead.
Greensboro (4-4-1, 2-0-1 USA South) got its last goal of the match in the 65th minute when Kelli Viana converted a penalty kick. Greensboro out-shot Ferrum 22-3 and closed the match with a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Katie Hodkinson and
Bridgett Hall split time in goal for Ferrum. Hodkinson played 77 minutes, making seven saves and allowing four goals. Hall played the remaining 13 minutes and made no saves. Katie Allegro went 78 minutes in net for the Pride, posting three saves. Shannon Hewitt played 12 minutes without a save.
Ferrum (1-8-1, 0-3 USA South) plays at Methodist University Sunday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m. The USA South match gets underway at 2 p.m. in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
