FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College and Averett University battled to a double-OT scoreless draw in USA South Athletic Conference women's soccer tonight at Penn-Roedgier Field.

Goalkeeper Katie Hodkinson made six saves in net for Ferrum (3-14-2, 2-6 USA South). Samantha Lupo made nine saves in net for Averett (7-9-1, 3-5-1 USA South). Both goalkeepers played the entire 110 minutes.

Ferrum out-shot Averett 26-18, but Averett closed with an 8-7 edge in corner kicks. Each team had a goal nullified by an offsides call.

Ferrum will be the #8 seed in next week's USA South Tournament.  The Panthers will travel to Raleigh, North Carolina, Tuesday, Nov. 3, to face top seed Meredith College at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.

The winner will advance to the semifinals, Friday, Nov. 6.  The semifinals and finals will be held in Martinsville, Virginia, at the Smith River Sports Complex.  Both the men's and women's USA South Soccer Tournaments will be held in Martinsville.
