DEMOREST, Ga. – Derek Mitchell had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Ferrum College to a 61-53 non-conference men's basketball win over Piedmont College this afternoon on the road.

Daryl Hart had a game-high 19 points for the Panthers, while Nick English had 11 points. Jerrell Wade added seven points and seven assists in the win.

Michael Rubio had 16 for Piedmont (4-4), while J.C. Herebia had 11 points and seven boards. Ferrum out-rebounded the Lions 35-32 and shot 41% from the floor to Piedmont's 36%.

Ferrum (4-4) returns to action Thursday, Dec. 17, at home against Bridgewater College. The non-conference is set to tip off at 5 p.m. at Swartz Gym.

The Panthers close out fall semester action with a non-conference game Saturday afternoon, Dec. 19, at NCAA Division I opponent Winston-Salem State University.
