BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- The Ferrum College women's soccer team fell 2-0 to host Bridgewater College this afternoon at Jopson Field in the second day of action at the 2009 Bridgewater Invitational.

Kelly Purcell and Abby Dehoff scored in the 31st and 46th minutes of play for the Eagles, respectively.  Purcell headed a Kathy Bundrick corner kick for the game-winning goal.

GK Katie Hodkinson made 10 saves in net for Ferrum, playing all 90 minutes.  Bridgewater keeper Shauna Manovich preserved the shutout for the Eagles, without facing a shot.  Bridgewater out-shot Ferrum 23-0 and held a 9-0 edge in corner kicks.

Ferrum (1-2) will return to action Wednesday, Sept. 9, at home against Randolph-Macon College.  The non-conference match is set to begin at 4 p.m. at Penn-Roediger Field
