Derek Mitchell had 15 points and 10 rebounds but it wasn't enough as Ferrum College fell 68-63 to Shenandoah University in USA South Athletic Conference men's basketball this afternoon at home.
Henry Hall had 17 points for the Panthers, including three treys, and
J.T. Edwards had a career-high 14 points.
Jerrell Wade had nine assists to go with his five rebounds and four points. Ferrum trailed 30-26 at halftime.
Shenandoah (5-11, 1-2 USA South) got 17 points from Chris Schrader, 14 from Wayne Washington and 12 from Kenny Robertson. The Hornets out-rebounded Ferrum 44-35, and shot 42% from the floor to Ferrum's 39%.
Ferrum (8-8, 2-2 USA South) will play next on Sunday, Jan. 17, at home in USA South doubleheader against Christopher Newport University. The women's game begins at 2 p.m. and will be followed immediately by the men.
