FERRUM, Va. -- Even though tonight's USA South Women's Soccer Tournament Quarterfinal between Ferrum College and Averett University hasn't been played yet, the game will already be remembered as a historic one in Panther women's soccer history.
Tonight's match is the first time that Ferrum has hosted a USA South tournament soccer match at the friendly confines of Penn-Roediger Field.
Tonight's opponent is a familiar one. The Panthers and the Cougars clashed in Danville, Va. last Friday, Oct. 29. In a crucial USA South tilt, Ferrum, down 1-0 with 18 minutes to play, got two goals off the foot of
Stephanie Marshall, the reigning USA South Rookie of the Week, to post a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Averett.
The win secured the #3 seed for the Panthers in the 2010 USA South Women's Soccer Tournament.

The winner of tonight's match will move on to the semifinals where they will face the winner of the #7 Methodist and #2 Meredith quarterfinal match. This semifinal match is slated for this Friday, Nov. 5, at the Smith River Sports Complex in Martinsville, Va.
