SALEM, Va. -- The Ferrum College softball team split a pair of non-conference games this afternoon, losing 2-1 to Baruch (N.Y.) College before shutting out Eastern Mennonite University 3-0.

Against Baruch, Shelbie Hall pitched four innings and allowed just two hits and a pair of unearned runs.  Hall struck out one and walked none but got little run support as the Panthers could muster just three hits off Andrea Tucker.  Tucker struck out seven for the Bearcats (2-4).

Caitlyn Culler threw a complete seven-inning two-hitter against Eastern Mennonite (6-3).  Culler struck out three and walked none of the 24 batter she faced.  Hannah Shumaker was 2-3 with an RBI for the Panthers.

Ferrum (7-7) will return to action Monday, March 15, at home against Piedmont College.  The non-conference doubleheader begins at 2 p.m. at Franklin Community Bank Field.
