ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- The Ferrum College women's soccer team picked up its sixth straight win with this afternoon's 2-1 USA South Athletic Conference win at North Carolina Wesleyan College.
Kara Pegram and
LaQuinta Garrett scored for the Panthers, both first-half tallies. Pegram scored on a through ball, beating N.C. Wesleyan goalkeeper Tiina Rastiola at the 21:05 mark with an assist from
Brittany Baker. Garrett scored less than two minutes later off
Olivia Callahan's corner kick.
Josie Adams broke up the shutout, scoring from 18 yards out at the 72:03 mark.
Katie Hodkinson made one save for the Panthers, playing all 90 minutes in net. Rastiola also played 90 minutes in net for the Bishops (0-9, 0-1 USA South), recording one save.
Ferrum (7-1, 1-0 USA South) is back in action Sunday, Sept. 26, at Christopher Newport University. The USA South contest begins at 1 p.m. in Newport News, Va.
