WINCHESTER, Va. -- Other than a 2-0 deficit to open the game, the Ferrum College men's basketball team led wire-to-wire en route to an 83-46 USA South win over Shenandoah University tonight on the road.
Derek Mitchell posted yet another double-double, this time with 18 points and 20 rebounds, to lead the Panthers to their 15th win in 17 games this season.
Nick English led all scorers with 20 points on a perfect 10-for-10 shooting from the floor.
Keith Crump and
Lamont King each had 10 points for the Panthers, in a game that saw all 17 Ferrum players take the floor.
Shenandoah (3-12, 1-3 USA South) was led by Mitch Dudley's 13 points, the only player in double figure scoring. Ferrum dominated the boards, out-rebounding the Hornets 48-26.
Ferrum (15-2, 4-1 USA South) returns to action Sunday, Jan. 23, at home against North Carolina Wesleyan College. The USA South doubleheader tips off at 2 p.m. with the women's game and will be followed immediately by the men.
