FERRUM, Va. -- Kayla Trippeer had 11 kills and Leah Quinones had 15 assists but it wasn't enough as Ferrum College dropped its USA South opener 3-0 tonight at home to Shenandoah University.  Set scores were 25-19, 25-16, 25-12.

For Trippeer, it was her second time this season reaching double-digits in kills.  She also had 11 in a 3-0 loss to Hollins University Sept. 10 on the road.  She had a pair of digs and a service ace tonight as well, and registered a solo block and two block assists.  Kalayna Cassady had five kills to dgo with four digs and an block assist.

Shenandoah (5-2, 1-0 USA South) got 11 kills from Haley Smith and seven from Samantha Schambach.  Kalcy Brown had 19 of her team's 30 assists.

Ferrum (0-5, 0-1 USA South) returns to action Friday, Sept. 16, at home when it hosts a USA South Quad.  The Panthers face Peace College at 2 p.m.  Peace will then face Christopher Newport University at 4 p.m., followed by a CNU-Meredith College match at 6 p.m.  Ferrum and Meredith will face each other at 8 p.m. to close out the quad.
