
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Ferrum College volleyball team dropped a pair of USA South matches this afternoon at Methodist University, falling 3-1 to Greensboro College and 3-0 to the host Monarchs. Set scores against Greensboro were 25-17, 18-25, 25-11, 25-8. Set scores in the Methodist setback were 25-13, 25-11, 25-17.
Junior middle blocker
Kayla Trippeer had a career-high 16 kills in the opening match against Greensboro, adding six digs in the loss.
Leah Quinones and
Bridget Atkinson had 13 and 10 assists, respectively. Quinones had 10 digs, while
Jordan Link had eight kills and seven digs.
Trippeer led Ferrum with seven kills in the loss to Methodist.
Olivia Treto, who had six digs and a service ace against Greensboro, added another six digs and an ace against Methodist.
Ferrum (0-10, 0-6 USA South) remains in the hunt for its first win this season when it faces North Carolina Wesleyan College and Christopher Newport University Saturday at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
