LaQuinta Garrett notched her second career hat trick with three goals as Ferrum College opened USA South play with a 10-1 win over North Carolina Wesleyan College this afternoon at Penn-Roediger Field.
Kara Pegram had two goals and two assists for the Panthers, while
Casey Johnson had two goals an one assist.
Megan Webb added two goals, and
Amber Lynch had one.
Allie Sokolik and
Annabelle Pivarnik each earned an assist.
Starting goalkeeper
Caitlyn Deaton played 67 minutes in net for Ferrum, making five saves and allowing no goals.
Briana Baird played the final 23 minutes with one save and one goal allowed.
Jade Gold scored the lone goal for the Bishops (1-10, 1-2 USA South) off a pass from Rebecca Staylor. Paige Brooks played all 90 minutes in net for N.C. Wesleyan, making four saves.
Ferrum (5-4-1, 1-0 USA South) returns to action Saturday, Oct. 1, at home against Christopher Newport University. The USA South match gets underway at 4 p.m. and will played as part of Family Weekend at Ferrum.
