LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Brittany Hammons scored an unassisted goal in the 99th minute of play to lift Randolph College to a 3-2 non-conference women's soccer win over Ferrum College tonight in overtime. Hammons scored the opening goal as well for the Wildcats in the 4th minute.

Morgan Funck and
Kara Pegram scored consecutive goals in the 10th and 34th minutes, respectively, to help the Panthers grab a 2-1 lead at the break. Funck's goal was unassisted, while
Brittany Baker was credited with an assist on Pegram's score. Randolph's Brianne Roth tied the match in the 50th minute to force overtime.
Caitlyn Deaton played 98:33 minutes in net for the Panthers (0-1), making eight saves. Hunter Gibson played the entire 98-plus minutes for Randolph (1-0) and made three stops. Ferrum returns to action Sunday, Sept. 2, at Hollins University in Roanoke, the second of four road games to open the 2012 season.
