FERRUM, Va. -- Sawyer Ferguson scored in the eighth minute of overtime to lift Salem College to a 2-1 non-conference women's soccer win over Ferrum College Sept. 19 at Penn-Roediger Field.
Morgan Funck had the lone goal for the Panthers in the 24th minute of play.

Caitlyn Deaton played 97:32 in net for ferrum (2-4), making 14 saves. Jessi Carter went the distance in net for the Spirits, making three saves. Salem (5-2) outshot Ferrum 23-7 and closed with a 10-1 edge in corner kicks. Tarryn Bundy and had Salem's first goal and assisted on the game-winner.
Ferrum returns to action Sept. 22-23 with a pair of USA South road games. Coach Liesl Narrow's team faces Mary Baldwin College Saturday at 2 p.m. in Staunton, and Christopher Newport University Sunday at 1 p.m. in Newport News.
