FERRUM, Va. -- Meredith College outshot Ferrum 21-11 en route to a 3-1 USA South Athletic Conference women's soccer win this afternoon at Penn-Roediger Field.
Rachel Didier, Jessie Davis and Taylor Brown scored a goal each for the Avenging Angels (7-3, 4-1 USA South). Brown was credited with an assist on Davis' goal, and Megan Luke had the assist on Didier's goal.
Casey Johnson scored the lone goal for Ferrum on a penalty kick at the 85:00 minute mark.
Caitlyn Deaton played all 90 minutes in net for Ferrum, making seven saves. Kelsey Hopper did the same for Meredith, makingseven saves.
Ferrum (5-6, 3-2 USA South) returns to action Thursday, Oct. 4, against Concord University, an NCAA Division opponent. The non-conference match gets underway at 4 p.m. in Athlens, West Virginia.
