FERRUM, Va. -- Mathilda Hansson had two goals and an assist to lead Averett University to an 8-1 USA South Athletic Conference women's soccer win over Ferrum College tonight at Penn-Roediger Field.
Sandra Johansson, Allison Lord, Charlotte Thibault and Camilla Sjoren each registered a goal and an assist for the Cougars (10-3-1, 7-0-1 USA South).
Briana Carel had the lone goal for the Panthers.
Annabelle Pivarnik earned an assist on the play when her shot from 20 yards out popped loose from GK Malin Borjesson's save and Carel was there to poke it in.
Borjesson played 74 minutes in net for Averett with one save and one goal allowed to earn the win.
Caitlyn Deaton absorbed the loss for Ferrum, allowing five goals and making six saves in 61 minutes in net.
Ferrum (6-6-1, 3-4-1 USA South) returns to action Saturday, Oct. 19, at home against Greensboro College. The USA South game gets underway at 5:30 p.m. at Penn-Roediger Field.
