FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Six players scored in double figures for #3 seed Greensboro College en route to a 98-82 USA South Tournament semifinal win over #2 Ferrum College tonight at Crown Center Arena.
Lamont King had 17 points to lead the Panthers in the season-ending loss.
Greensboro led by just two points at halftime, 44-42, but outscored the Panthers by 14 points in the second half to advance to Saturday's championship game.
J.D. Wallace had 16 points for Ferrum (14-11), while
Jamal Pullen added 11 points.
Brian Thomas had 17 points for the Pride (18-8), while Luqman Tuani had 16. Notching 14 points each were Damian Dixon, Devonta Davis and Chakiris Moss. Tracy Jester added 10 points to help Greensboro live to play another day.
Greensboro will face top seed Christopher Newport University Saturday at 5:30 p.m. for the title and the league's automatic qualifier into the 2013 NCAA Division III Tournament. The Captains beat #4 North Carolina Wesleyan College 72-59 in the other semifinal.
