Jae White and
Eddy Funes scored unassisted goals to lift Ferrum College to a 2-1 non-conference men's soccer win over visiting Emory & Henry College tonight at Penn-Roediger Field.
White blasted a shot into the upper corner of the net past goalkeeper Joe Kedanis in the 40th minute of play following a corner kick. Funes then scored in the 47th minute off a pass from Andres Juarez. Tory Schneider converted a penalty kick in the 85th minute to help the Wasps (1-4) avoid the shutout.
Justin Robinson played all 90 minutes in goal for the Panthers. Joe Kedanis made nine saves for the visitors. Ferrum out-shot Emory & Henry 20-2 and closed with a 9-3 edge in corner kicks. Ferrum (3-1) returns to action Saturday, Sept. 14, at home against Washington and Lee University at 7:00 p.m.
