FERRUM, Va. -- Anna Porch's goal 2:40 into overtime was the difference as Covenant College posted a 2-1 USA South women's soccer come-from-behind win over Ferrum this afternoon at Penn-Roediger Field. Covenant is in its first year as a member of the USA South.
Annabelle Pivarnik got the Panthers on the board with a goal at 29:44, only to the the Scots tie the game in the 77th minute of play with a goal from Bethany Logan.
Meagan Glover made four saves in net for the Panthers. Lucy Johnson made six saves for Covenant (4-5, 2-0 USA South).
Today's loss was the second time in as many days that the Panthers lost in overtime. Coach Liesl Narrow's team fell 2-1 last night to visiting Piedmont College. Ferrum (3-4, 0-2 USA South) competes next Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28-29, with a pair of USA South road games. The Panthers play at Huntingdon (Ala.) College Saturday, and at LaGrange (Ga.) College Sunday.
