DANVILLE, Va. -- Julie Rictey nailed the game-winner in the 77th minute of play to lift Averett University to a 2-1 USA South Athletic Conference women's soccer win over Ferrum College tonight at Daly Field.

Chloe Hudson scored five minutes into the game off a pass from Annabelle Pivarnik for the Panthers. Amanda Gustavsson tied the game with a goal at 21:48. Caitlyn Deaton played 90 minutes in net and made 11 saves for Ferrum. Kim Josephson made five stops for the Cougars (4-9, 4-4 USA South).

Ferrum (7-7, 4-4 USA South) returns to action Sunday, Oct. 19, at Greensboro College. The USA South doubleheader begins at 1:00 p.m. with the men's game and the women follow at 3:00 p.m. in Greensboro, North Carolina.
