ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. --
Jamal Pullen was 8-18 from the floor for 22 points, but it wasn't enough as Ferrum College fell 72-58 to North Carolina Wesleyan College in USA South men's basketball action this afternoon on the road.
Pullen was the lone Panther in double figure scoring. Four players scored in double figures for the Battling Bishops (13-12, 8-6 USA South), including D.J. Weaver with 15 points and Devontae Williams with 12 points. Ferrum (10-15, 6-8 USA South) trailed 44-31 at halftime, and was outrebounded 42-26.
Coach Bill Tharp's team will compete in this week's USA South Tournament, to be hosted Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 27 through March 1 by regular season champion Maryville (Tenn.) College. The Panthers will be the #7 seed and will face #2 Averett University in the quarterfinals Thursday at 3:00 p.m.
