FERRUM, Va. -- Behind
Jamal Pullen's 16 points, Ferrum College was able to hold off Methodist University in a 65-63 USA South men's basketball win this afternoon at Swartz Gymnasium.
Brian Clarke had 13 points and three assists in the win.
Alek Ayer led the the Panthers in rebounds with nine, Pullen had seven. Ferrum was able to out-shoot the Monarchs from the free-throw line by a whopping 87% to 50%. Both teams were able to produce 30 rebounds on the day.
For Methodist (7-14, 5-6 USA South), Tabias Hilliard led the floor with 21 points and three steals, while Bryan Hockaday was able to produce a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Desmond Parker had three blocks for the Monarchs on defense.
Ferrum (8-12, 3-6 USA South) returns to action tomorrow afternoon at home. The second game of the USA South double-header against North Carolina Weselyan College will begin immediately following the women's game, which gets underway at 1 p.m.
