LATROBE, Pa. --
Tyler Poage scored an unassisted goal with less than a minute left in regulation to lift Ferrum College to a 9-8 non-conference men's lacrosse win over Saint Vincent College this afternoon on the road.
Saint Vincent's Bryce Pasquariello scored with 3:24 left in the fourth quarter to knot the score at 8-8 and it looked like overtime was in the making. Poage had a different outcome in mind when he rifled a shot past SVC goalkeeper Greg Gonzalaz for the game-winner with 0:29 showing on the clock.
Nick Pensyl led the Bearcats (1-7) with three goals, and Gonzalez made 21 saves playing all 60 minutes in net.
Nick Smith led Ferrum with a pair of goals, and GK
Damian Pulos made 11 stops in 60 minutes of net play for the Panthers.
Ferrum (3-8) returns to action Wednesday, March 26, at home against Virginia Wesleyan College. The non-conference game gets underway at 3:00 p.m. at W.B. Adams Stadium. The game was originally scheduled to be played in mid-February, but was postponed due to inclement weather.
