DEMOREST, Ga. -- Ferrum College trailed 6-5 at halftime, but unleashed an 11-2 scoring barrage in the second half to beat Piedmont College 16-8 in non-conference men's lacrosse action played this afternoon at Walker Athletic Complex. The win extends Ferrum's streak to five games.
Andrew Senft led the Panthers with three goals and three assists.
Ryan Tesler and
Tyler Poage had three goals each for Ferrum, while
Nick Smith and
Nathan Taylor recorded two goals each. Goalkeeper
Damian Pulos played all 60 minutes in net, making eight saves. Spencer Ortis and Taylor Carter had two goals each for the Lions (5-7).
Ferrum (6-8) returns to action Tuesday, April 8, at home against Virginia Wesleyan College, in a game that has been rescheduled twice due to snowstorms. The non-conference is scheduled to get underway at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at W.B. Adams Stadium.
