FERRUM, Va. -- Josh Currier led Virginia Wesleyan College with six goals in a 15-8 non-conference men's lacrosse win over Ferrum College this afternoon at W.B. Adams Stadium.
Viriginia Wesleyan opened up a 3-0 lead before Ferrum could get on the scoreboard.
Nick Smith and Danial Batong scored a goal each at 4:24 and 3:23, respectively, to trim the lead to 3-2. The Marlins used a 6-1 run from there to take a 9-3 halftime lead.
Batong had three goals for the Panthers (6-9),
Will Walter had two goals, and
Ryan Tesler and
Nick Smith had a goal each.
Damian Pulos played all 60 minutes in net for Ferrum, making nine saves. Rory Finnegan played all 60 minutes for Virginia Wesleyan (7-3) with 20 saves.
Ferrum is back in action Saturday, April 12, at home against Greensboro College. The non-conference game gets underway at 1 p.m. at Adams Stadium.
