LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Ferrum College's women's soccer team dropped a pair of USA South Athletic Conference matches on the road this weekend, losing 1-0 in overtime to Piedmont College Friday, Sept. 19, and 1-0 to Covenant College Saturday, Sept. 20.
In the loss to Piedmont, Shayna Rogers scored unassisted 3:55 into the first overtime period, beating Ferrum goalkeeper
Caitlyn Deaton with her shot into the left corner of the net. Deaton played all 93:55 with five saves. Michaela Gardner played 93:55 in net for the Lions (4-2, 1-0 USA South) without making a save. Piedmont outshot Ferrum 12-1.
Bethany Logan scored the lone goal for Covenant today in the 52nd minute of play, with Anna Porch assisting. Deaton played all 90 minutes in net with five saves for the Panthers (3-4, 0-2 USA South). Lucy Johnson played 90 minutes in net for the Scots (4-4, 2-0 USA South) with one save. Covenant outshot Ferrum 16-4.
