DANVILLE, Va. -- Ferrum College scored four runs in the fourth inning, then tacked on a run each in the fifth and sixth innings to earn a 9-7 USA South Athletic Conference baseball win this afternoon over Averett University at Owen-Fulton Field.
Adam Duncan went 3-6 with two runs and two RBI for Ferum (8-5, 7-3 USA South).

Matt Reynolds had a pair of base hits each.
Jake Perkins got the win after allowing five earned runs off four hits and striking out two. Closer
Alex Brown picked up his fourth save this season.
Sean King and
Jared Talley each tossed an inning in middle relief for the Panthers. Ferrum had 14 base hits and committed three errors, while Averett had four hits and committed two errors.
Timothy Coston went 2-3 with a double and two RBI for the Cougars (6-4, 4-3 USA South). Ferrum and Averett will continue the USA South series with a game each on Saturday and Sunday in Danville.
