Men Win Third Straight, Beat Greensboro 74-68

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College led 10-3 to open the game and never trailed in picking up a 74-68 USA South men's basketball win over visiting Greensboro College tonight at Swartz Gym. The Panthers used a 6-0 run to close the game and earn their third straight win.

How It Happened
Ferrum held a 26-25 lead at halftime, but used a 20-9 run to open the second half and grab a 46-34 lead. The Pride chipped away at the lead and got it to within a point at 55-54 on Donavan Griffith's free throw with 3:45 left to play. Ferrum answered when D'Andre Mullen, Josh Grimard and Steven Jones drilled back-to-back-to-back three-pointers to make it a 10-point lead at 64-54 with 2:09 left. Greensboro came back with a 14-4 run to tie the game at 68-68 with 37 seconds left in regulation, but Mullen and Grimard each converted two free throws and RJ Turner hit a jumper to seal the win.
