FERRUM, Va. -- Payton Stuart had a pair of goals to lead Ferrum College to a 3-1 non-conference women's soccer win over Eastern Mennonite University this afternoon at Penn-Roediger Field. The game was Ferrum's home-opener and squared the Panthers' record at 2-2 this season.

THE BASICS
Stuart scored her first goal in the opening minutes of the game off an Alexis McCargo cross at 1:07. EMU's Amanda Wiliams knotted the score with a goal in the 12th minute and the teams were tied at the break. Stuart then ripped a shot into the back of the net in the 47th minute, again with McCargo assisting on the play. Ae'Neisha Mar added an insurance goal when she headed Miranda Dougherty's corner kick past EMU goalkeeper Leah Wenger with less than three minutes remaining in regulation.

Ferrum returns to action Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17-18, with a pair of USA South road games in North Carolina. The Panthers play at North Carolina Wesleyan College Saturday at 2 p.m. in Rocky Mount, and at Methodist University Sunday at 1 p.m. in Fayetteville.
