SALEM, Va. -- Ferrum College trailed 20-7 early in the second quarter, then scored 35 unanswered points to close out the game in a 42-20 non-conference win over Hampden-Sydney College this afternoon at Salem Stadium.

Mike DeMasi and Alec Cobb had rushing touchdowns of one and five yards, respectively, and Cobb found a wide open Owen Costello for an 80-yard touchdown pass play as the Tigers built a 20-7 lead at the 13:55 mark of the second quarter. Ferrum came back to score touchdowns on a
Harvey Taylor 17-yard run. and a 67-yard Taylor to
Chris Guy scoring strike to take a 21-20 halftime lead. Taylor added rushing touchdowns of five and seven yards in the second half, and
Brian Mann scored his second rushing touchdown of the day. Mann closed with 180 yards rushing on 29 carries, his third straight 100-yard rushing game. Ferrum held Hampden-Sydney to just 25 yards in total offense in the second half.
Montel Lee set a new school record for single game sacks with four, and
Tyler Morgan set a new school record for longest punt with a 72-yard boot in the second quarter.
