FERRUM, Va. -- Samara Alba converted a penalty kick 35 seconds into the first overtime period to lift Greensboro College to a 2-1 USA South women's soccer win over Ferrum College this afternoon at Penn-Roediger Field.

THE BASICS
Alba was awarded the PK following a hand ball violation inside the Ferrum box. Alba put the game-winning shot in the left side of the net past Ferrum goalkeeper Taylor Dodson. Following a scoreless first half, Anna George scored in the 50th minute to break the ice for Greensboro. Ferrum responded when Mac Cannaday ripped a shot from 25 yards out past GK Brittany Morrison to even the game at 55:10.
