NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Christopher Newport University jumped out to a 7-0 lead after one inning this afternoon and went on to win 16-1 in the rubber game of a three-game non-conference baseball series with Ferrum College at Captains Park.

Austin Herry's three-run homer fueled CNU's 7-0 first inning, then the Captains tacked on three in the second, one in the third, three in the fourth and two in the sixth for the runaway win. The Panthers scored their lone run in the second inning on an RBI single by Jacob Holland.
