FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College earned a pair of USA South softball wins over Covenant College this afternoon at home, winning the opener 7-6 in 11 innings and taking the nightcap 8-1. The two victories run Ferrum's win streak to 10 games.

THE BASICS
Cheyenne Strickland had an RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the 11th inning of the opener, allowing
Kali Setzer to score the game-winning run. In game two,
Bailey Oakes had a three-run homer in the third inning to give Ferrum the USA South sweep. Oakes was a combined 6-8 today with three doubles, a home run, four runs and five RBI for Ferrum.
Courtney Rudd earned wins in both games to improve her pitching record to 6-4 this season. Rudd struck out three in 1.2 innings of the opener and six in five innings of game two. Shannon Schmidt went 3-5 in the opener for Covenant.
