Ferrum got a run in the first inning when
Lane Deaver walked, advanced to second on a wild pitch, then scored on a throwing error. Deaver sent a ball over the right field fence in the third inning to increase the lead to 3-0. The Panthers got two more runs in the sixth inning, one on

Tim Ortega's sacrifice fly to put Ferrum out front 5-2 after six full innings.
