FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped a non-conference men's basketball game to visiting Pfeiffer University tonight at home, falling 103-62 at Swartz Gym.

THE BASICS
Ferrum jumped out to a 14-6 lead in the first four minutes of play off a pair of Rashad Reed three-pointers and one by R.J. Turner, but Pfeiffer used a 19-0 spurt to take control of the game. The Falcons got 30 points from Josh Calhoun, who was red hot in going 8-11 from behind the three-point line.

COACH'S THOUGHTS
"Their up-tempo style of play and pressure really affected our whole game plan tonight," said Head Coach Tyler Sanborn. "It's hard to emulate in practice what they do. We were never able to get comfortable and turned the ball over way too much. Give them credit, they're really good at doing what they do, it obviously has been successful thus far. Back to work tomorrow in preparation for our back-to-back games this weekend."

Sanborn's team will host a pair of games Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 6-7. The Panthers face Brevard Saturday at 4:00 p.m., then Maryville College Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
