Panther Men Fall In Waning Seconds

FERRUM, Virginia -- Leo Alcantara's unassisted goal with 27 seconds left in regulation was the difference and lifted Bridgewater to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference win at Penn-Roediger Field Wednesday night.

THE BASICS
The first half proved to be all Bridgewater, as they struck first in this one when Josh Gilliam found the back of the net from an Alcantara corner and the Eages took the 1-0 advantage. Luke Stubbs would double the Bridgewater lead when he bested the Ferrum keeper just a minute after Gilliam's header. The second stanza saw the Panthers claw back into the match. Martin Zaluga was the first Panther to find the back of the net with a strike in the 63rd minute. Leo Galpin knotted the game up at 2-2 just moments later when he scored off of a Jeffery Calix corner. Alcantara proved to be the difference when he found the back of the net with just 27 ticks left on the clock.

Mark Collins got the win in the net for Bridgewater, recording three saves in the wining effort. Simon Bradford took the loss for the Panthers despite the seven saves.

UP NEXT
Coach Crehan's squad will be back in action at home to take on Randolph-Macon College in the regular season finale at Penn-Roediger Field Saturday, October 26. The ODAC match is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
