Box Score WINCHESTER, Virginia -- Ferrum College's men's basketball team dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game to Shenandoah University today on the road, falling at 81-71 at James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center.

THE BASICS
Shenandoah jumped out to an early 9-2 lead, then expanded the lead to 14-5. James Smith Jr.'s three-pointer with 11:02 left got Ferrum within six points at 23-17, but the Hornets went on a 22-11 run to take a 45-28 lead into the break.
Shenandoah built a 52-30 lead five minutes into the second half, only to see Ferrum get back to within eight points at 60-52 on Jamar Butler's layup with with 8:48 left.
Back-to-back Smith jumpers trimmed the lead to 65-62 with 4:14 left in regulation, but that was as close as the Panthers would get as Shenandoah closed the game with a 15-9 spurt and hung on for the league win.
