Ferrum Women Tie Defending ODAC Champs

ASHLAND, Virginia -- Ferrum College and Randolph-Macon College battled to a double-overtime scoreless draw in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's soccer action this afternoon at R-MC Soccer Field.

The Yellow Jackets won last year's ODAC title and advanced to the second round of the 2019 NCAA Div. III Women's Soccer Tournament.

THE BASICS
Randolph-Macon peppered Ferrum with 13 shots in the first half, another 13 in the second half, three in the first overtime and five in the second, all to no avail.

Ferrum goalkeeper Abbey Hayes was a rock for the Panthers, playing all 110 minutes in net and making 21 saves to help preserve the shutout.

Zoe Long and Abby Cooks combined for 110 minutes in net for the Yellow Jackets, with neither registering a save.

Randolph-Macon outshot Ferrum 33-4 and closed the game with a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.

UP NEXT
Saleeby's team will return to action Wednesday, March 17, at home against Bridgewater College. The ODAC game is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start at Penn-Roediger Field. Ferrum fans should watch www.ferrumpanthers.com and/or social media accounts for changes, as rain could move the game to Ferrum's turf field later in the day.
