THE BASICS
In game one against Adrian as the home team, Keri Hamlett led the way in the box, going 3-4 with an RBI and a run scored while also swiping a bag. Hamlett also drove in what would eventually be the game-winning run with a single up the middle in the home half of the 6th. Tori Scott had a big 2-run single in the same frame, putting the Panthers up 5-2 and pushing it out of reach. Skylar Swaney (2-2) picked up the win for Ferrum in relief, tossing 5.0 innings and only surrendering one earned run.
In game two against Roanoke as the visiting team, Scott and Swaney both had two hits for the Panthers, while each having an RBI and a run scored. Hamlett didn't have a hit but drew two walks and swiped two more bags. Erin Nelson threw 5.0 innings for Ferrum, giving up two earned runs in the opening frame but got the no decision. The Panthers led 4-2 going into the home-half of the seventh, but a Gabby Fox single up the middle would bring across the winning run for the Maroons. Swaney (2-2) came on to start the sixth and was credited the loss after allowing three runs in the final frame.
