Box Score 2 FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College earned an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) softball doubleheader sweep this afternoon at home, beating Eastern Mennonite University 6-4 and 9-3 at American National Bank Field.

SENIOR DAY
Prior to the opening game, five players were honored with a Senior Day ceremony: Tori Scott, Ashton Lambeth, Olivia Fox, Keri Hamlett and Brittney Roberts.
GAME 1
Ferrum jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one inning off RBI singles by Scott and Fox, and an RBI double by Bayley Cunningham. EMU's Sierra Lantz belted the first of three home runs today with a three-run shot in the third inning of the opener, then had a solo blast in the sixth.
Hamlett's fielder's choice in the sixth inning drove in Ferrum's final run. Scott went 2-3 with a run and an RBI. Lyndsey Sears (W, 1-1) pitched all seven innings, allowing five hits, four earned runs and a pair of walks, with two strikeouts.
GAME 2
The Panthers opened the nightcap with six runs in the first inning off RBI doubles by Arielle Eure and Scott, RBI singles by Breanna Weaver and Kassie Widner, and a two-run homer by Makayla Fincanon. Ferrum added three runs in the third inning on sac flies by Widner and Hamlett, and an RBI single by Scott. Lantz belted her third homer of the day, a solo shot in the fifth inning.
Scott went 3-3 with a double, scored a run and drove in two runs. Skyler Swaney went 2-2 with a pair of run, Weaver went 2-3 with a run and an RBI. Lambeth (W, 5-6) pitched the opening four innings to get the win, while Erin Nelson got the save after pitching the final three innings.

Coach Gerald Culler's team will be back in action Sunday, April 18, at Shenandoah University. The ODAC doubleheader gets underway at 2:00 p.m. in Winchester, Virginia.
