Box Score BUENA VISTA, Virginia -- The Ferrum College men's soccer team used an extra period to best the Southern Virginia University Knights on the road Saturday night, 3-2. Erick Nolasco's goal in the 98th minute gave the Panthers the victory, the first victory for Coach Matt Cureton as a head coach.

THE BASICS
Southern Virginia laid claim to the lead early in the match, as Jaren Robledo bested starting Ferrum keeper Chris Rodriguez in just the fourth minute.
The Panthers would answer right back in a little over nine minutes when Massimo Cirignaco finished a Callum Harrison pass to bring things level at 1-1.
Kohl Simmons would then close out the first half with a goal of his own in the 36th minute to give the Knights the lead back at 2-1.
The Panthers would bring things square for the second time in the contest right at the start of the second stanza, as Leo Galpin used a Jeffery Calix delivery to best Spencer Young and things would stay at 2-2 through the end of regulation.
Erick Nolasco then proved that not all heros wear capes, as his goal in the first period of sudden victory gave the Panthers their first victory of the season.
