FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's basketball game to Eastern Mennonite University this afternoon, falling 73-65 at Swartz Gymnasium.

THE BASICS
First-half action saw the Panthers and Royals trade baskets back and forth, with neither team taking a commanding lead. A pair of Darius Kemp free throws at 2:52 left in the half would tie the game at 33-33 a piece. Those would prove to be the final points for Ferrum in the half. Eastern Mennonite hit a three by Mark Burkholder and a jumper by Landon Swingler, to take a 38-33 lead at the break.
Eastern Mennonite started the second half off hot, making their first five field goal attempts, to take a 50-39 lead early on. Ferrum battled back over the next few minutes, using a 8-2 run to pull within five of the Royals.
After a James Smith Jr. jumper got Ferrum within two points, with 2:24 to go in the game, EMU closed the game on a 9-3 run to secure the ODAC road win. Tim Jones hit six of his game high 19 points in the final two minutes of play.
