Box Score FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College built a 6-2 lead after seven innings, then hung on for a 6-3 non-conference baseball win over Pfeiffer University tonight at Panther Field.

THE BASICS
Dylan Sereno scored off Grayson Chitwood's RBI single to left field to break the ice. The Falcons scored off an error to tie the game at 1-1 in the second inning.
In the fourth inning, Brady Parker had an RBI double to left field to score Zach Ferrell and the Falcons held the 2-1 lead.
Ferrum struck for three runs, starting with Bryce Thacker scoring on a wild pitch. Sereno then drove in a pair of runs with a single up the middle for a 4-2 Panther lead.
Thacker then blasted a single up the middle to allow Ozzie Torres to cross the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning. Clayton Michael then doubled to left center to bring Thacker around to score and the lead was 6-2 Ferrum.
Pfeiffer scored on Cory Lackey's RBI single to right field in the top of the ninth, but the Panthers closed it out when closer Matthew Sheppard struck out the final batter with the bases loaded.
