KODAK, Tennessee – Ferrum College split today's doubleheader with Covenant College, losing the first game 2-0 in seven innings and taking the second game 2-1. This concludes the 3-game series against Covenant, hosted at the Smokies Stadium.

GAME 1
The first game featured a pitchers' duel between Ferrum's Will Davis and Covenant's Bryce Bollinger. The two combined for six scoreless innings and allowing a total of seven hits, four to Bollinger and three to Davis.
The Scots broke through and scored twice in the top of the seventh, to lead 2-0. Ferrum had an opportunity to score with runners on first and second with no outs. Conor Austin came in relief and struck out two and forced a groundout to earn the save for Covenant in the win.

GAME 2
Covenant grabbed the first run of the game in the top of the 4th, on a groundout to the shortstop. Ferrum answered with a run of their own when Davis Yeaman drove in Bryce Thacker to tie the game up 1-1. Ferrum was able to score the winning run in the bottom of the eighth after Justin Brady singled to right field to bring home Ozzie Torres, to lead 2-1.
Starting pitcher Sal Lettieri threw 7.1 innings, allowing six hits, one run, with a walk and four strikeouts. Matthew Sheppard (3-0) came on in relief to pick up the win, giving up no hits, runs, or walks, and striking out two. Relief pitcher Kenny Mills (0-2) was credited with the loss after allowing two hits, one run, one walk and zero strikeouts.
