Box Score FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College posted a non-conference baseball win this afternoon at home, beating North Carolina Wesleyan College 13-12 on a hit batsman with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th inning.

THE BASICS
Ferrum trailed 12-5 midway through the fourth inning before mounting a comeback. The Panthers scored three in the bottom of the fourth, two on Grayson Chitwood's RBI single and the other on Bryce Thacker's RBI single, to trim the lead to 12-8.
Following three scoreless innings in the fifth, sixth and seventh frames, Ferrum scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth, including two on Nick Funk's RBI single up the middle and the game was tied at 12-12.
Neither team could score a run in the ninth and the game went into extra innings. In the bottom of the 10th, Benjamin Thomas walked to load the bases, then pinch hitter Justin Brady was plunked by a pitch to force the game-winning run across the plate.
