Box Score 2 FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College split an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) baseball doubleheader with #5 University of Lynchburg at home, winning the opener 3-2 and dropping the nightcap 3-2 this afternoon at Panther Field.

GAME ONE
Lynchburg scored first in the opener, scoring a run in the first inning off a hit batsman, then stranding three runners. Ferrum answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning on an RBI single by Dylan Sereno that scored Nick Funk, and a Hornet fielding error that scored Justin Brady.
Tyson Measamer's groundout to first base in the bottom of the fifth inning allowed Ozzie Torres to cross the plate and it was a 3-1 game. The Hornets picked up another run in the top of the eighth inning when Avery Neaves sent a solo homer over the left field fence.
Starter Will Davis pitched eight innings with nine strikeouts to get the win. Matt Sheppard earned his second save after pitching the final inning with one strikeout.

GAME TWO
The Hornets drew first blood in the nightcap with a pair of runs in the first inning, then another in the third off R. Donovan's RBI double. Blake Weber's groundout in the fifth inning allowed Brady to score, then Clayton Michael's groundout in the sixth allowed Torres to score and it was a 3-2 game. Neither team was able to score a run after that and the two teams split the league doubleheader.
